NOAA Ground Station

Images of the Missouri area, including visible and infrared spectra, will be down linked from various NOAA spacecraft. Educational benefits to the students will be provided in terms of either open-ended or instructor-directed experiments, as well as demonstrations given to enhance the astronautics curriculum. The ground station will initially be used as an experiment in an AE junior/senior level course involving the orbit determination of the NOAA satellites and how to track their trajectories over Missouri S&T. And since the ground station has a number of capabilities, additional experiments can be crafted as well that would apply to both undergraduate and graduate levels.
